Wedding Rose Petals
What do you think of when you think of weddings? A towering cake, an exchange of vows, golden rings, Wagner's Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin (that's "Here Comes the Bride" to you and me), and of course flower children casting wedding rose petals hither and yon. For most of us, wedding rose petals are as much a part of the event as the best man's tipsy toast at the reception. The good news is, wedding rose petals aren't as expensive as you might think, and Miss Rose Petals has literally tons of 'em on hand. The bad news is that wedding rose petals come in so many colors and types that you may have trouble selecting the ones you want at your wedding.

Everything's coming up roses
While most folks think only of the nuptial aisle and flower children when they consider wedding rose petals, the truth is that they can be used everywhere. Instead of tossing rice or birdseed at the happy couple as they exit the chapel, why not buck tradition and toss rose petals? And naturally, wedding rose petals will look absolutely fabulous as table decorations and in potpourris. What about colors, you ask? Why, wedding rose petals are available in dozens of colors, from pure white through yellow, pink, coral, lavender, green, and of course red, some so dark as to be as nearly black as nature allows. Artificial wedding rose petals, of course, can go a little further in any direction, adding colors like blue and black to the rose palette.
This brings up the different types of wedding rose petals available for your special event. There are basically three: fresh rose petals, dried rose petals, and silk rose petals. All three types have their good points. Nothing's as lush or as beautiful and obviously real as fresh wedding rose petals, with the caveat that they deteriorate quickly, can stain fabrics, and can be slippery. Dried rose petals are a good alternative, because they last much longer than fresh petals, and do not stain or make for slippery floors, since they have little or no water content. They can be made either by natural air-drying or by freeze-drying; the later method is most effective for long lasting wedding rose petals. Finally there are silk rose petals. Silk petals are made from fine polyester (the original artificial silk), and are much less expensive than fresh or dried wedding rose petals. They last forever, too, and will never wilt or deteriorate. They don't stain and aren't slippery. The downside? Silk wedding rose petals just aren't as realistic as the real thing. On the other hand, that won't matter much if all you're using them for is for the flower path for the bride and groom. At a distance, silk wedding rose petals are just as good as the real thing.
Wedding rose petals and beyond
Think rose petals, real and artificial, are just for weddings? Think again! Aside from the fact that some grades of rose petals can be used in teas and cosmetics, they're perfect for any special moment in your life: engagements, baby showers, christenings, anniversaries, coming-of-age parties, or simply a romantic evening with just the two of you. Whatever your rose petal needs, Miss Rose Petals is the best place to buy them -- whether you need 100 or 100,000.
